Dot Gov for Kids is a wiki for teachers to share lesson ideas using U.S. government websites (.gov) for source material.
The subject area of this wiki could be anything that relates to the different departments of our government. Many government websites have areas specificly designed for kids with content and activities suited for various age groups.
This wiki will serve as a resource to locate interesting subject material as well as a collaborative arena to share lesson plan ideas.
The ideal .gov website and lesson plan would be one that uses innovative design with a high degree of interactivity.
We're looking for a little more than some coloring pages and word-searches here. An innovative example might look something like this. This Federal Trade Commision website helps you think like a consumer and find out things like how advertising influences your decisions.
